President Trump lashed out early Tuesday against a group of Republicans, including the husband of White House adviser Kellyanne Conway, for running an attack ad that faults the president for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, referring to them as “loser types.”
The ad, titled “Mourning in America” and released by The Lincoln Project, a group of anti-Trump Republicans, is a take on President Ronald Reagan’s “Morning in America.”
“A group of RINO Republicans who failed badly 12 years ago, then again 8 years ago, and then got BADLY beaten by me, a political first timer, 4 years ago, have copied (no imagination) the concept of an ad from Ronald Reagan, ‘Morning in America’, doing everything possible to get even for all of their many failures,” Trump said in a series of Twitter posts shortly before 1 a.m.
“You see, these loser types don’t care about 252 new Federal Judges, 2 great Supreme Court Justices, a rebuilt military, a protected 2nd Amendment, biggest EVER Tax & Regulation cuts, and much more,” the president wrote.
The president said the “Lincoln Project is a disgrace to Honest Abe” and then turned to Conway’s husband, George.
“I don’t know what Kellyanne did to her deranged loser of a husband, Moonface, but it must have been really bad,” the president said.
He went on to list the other advisers to the Lincoln Project: John Weaver, “Crazed Rick Wilson,” Steve Schmidt, Reed Galen and Jennifer Horn.
“They’re all LOSERS, but Abe Lincoln, Republican, is all smiles!” Trump said.
The Lincoln Project ad says: “There’s mourning in America. And under the leadership of Donald Trump, our country is weaker, sicker and poorer. And now, Americans are asking, ‘If we have another four years like this, will there even be an America?’”
