The parents of the high-school sophomore accused of killing four classmates were found and arrested hours after being charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said, ending a period of confusion during which police said the couple was missing and their lawyer said they intended to surrender.
James and Jennifer Crumbley were charged Friday in connection with the gun that their son is accused of using in Tuesday’s shooting at Oxford High School, Oakland County prosecutor Karen D. McDonald said. The father bought the gun, with the teen present at the purchase, days before the shooting, officials said.
