Seúl asegura que el intercambio de disparos comenzó cuando unidades del norte bombardearon una unidad militar del sur, el jueves por la tarde. Eso, según la versión surcoreana, fue lo que llevó a las fuerzas armadas de su país a responder.
El ataque supuestamente era en cumplimiento de una advertencia anterior de destruir unos altavoces surcoreanos instalados en la frontera para emitir propaganda crítica con el gobierno de Pyongyang.
Corea del Norte niega haber efectuado ese ataque y asegura que disparos de mortero surcoreanos cayeron cerca de sus posiciones, sin causar heridos.
La Agencia Central de Noticias de Corea del Norte fue la encargada de reportar que Kim ordenó “estar completamente preparados para cualquier acción militar en cualquier momento a partir de las cinco de la tarde (07:30 GMT)”.
El reporte señaló que “comandantes fueron despachados urgentemente para operaciones de ataque a las instalaciones de guerra psicológica de Corea del Sur, si no frenan esas operaciones”.
Aunque observadores consideran que la declaración no deja de ser un preocupante indicativo de cómo se ha tensado la situación en las últimas horas, señalan que no es la primera vez que Pyongyang habla de “cuasi-estado de guerra”.

Durante 14 años los siete hermanos vivieron virtualmente aislados del mundo en un departamento en Nueva York.
Nunca asistieron al colegio, su madre los educó en la casa, y su padre -que tenía la única llave de la puerta del departamento- rara vez permitía que los seis varones salieran solos. La hermana y la madre jamás salieron de la casa.
Para pasar el tiempo, los seis hermanos Angulo se volcaron al cine, hacia la colección de videos de su padre.
Mirando películas una y otra vez, memorizando los diálogos y recreando los personajes de sus cintas favoritas de Hollywood, formaron su visión de un mundo que rara vez habían visto.
“Creo que la intención de nuestro padre era protegernos de los peligros y el crimen que él veía en el mundo exterior. Y nunca nos alentaron a comunicarnos con la sociedad”, le cuenta Mukunda Angulo a la BBC.
“Creyó que podía hacerlo manteniéndonos aislados y apartados de cualquier interacción con el crimen y peligros que estaban ocurriendo en el exterior”.
Ahora el mundo ha conocido la increíble historia de los hermanos Angulo gracias a un documental que se estrenó a principios de año: “The Wolfpack”, (“Manada de Lobos”) dirigido por la estadounidense Crystal Mosselle.
Todo empezó en Machu Picchu
Los seis hermanos Angulo, cuyas edades van de los 16 a los 24 años son Bhagavan, Govinda y Narayana (que son gemelos), Mukunda, Krsna, Jagadisa, y la hermana mayor, Visnu -que según se ha dicho- sufre un trastorno genético que afecta el desarrollo.
Son hijos de Oscar, que nació en Perú, y Susanne. Ambos se conocieron en Machu Picchu cuando Susanne, una hippy estadounidense que viajaba por Sudamérica, se encontró con el peruano guía de turistas en la “Montaña Vieja”.
En esa época Oscar era seguidor del krishnaismo y por eso todos los hijos tienen nombres sánscritos.
La pareja se estableció en el Lower East Side de Mahattan, Nueva York, en un edificio de viviendas de ayuda social.
Lo que se desprende del documental es que Oscar, que nunca trabajó “por razones filosóficas”, pensaba que el mundo era potencialmente inseguro y prefería que su familia permaneciera aislada dentro del hogar.
El único ingreso que recibía la familia era la compensación que la ciudad de Nueva York le daba a Susanne por educar a los niños en la casa.
Dos mundos
“Nunca salimos en invierno. Ni en otoño. Ni en primavera”, le dice Narayana a la BBC.
Sólo salían en verano. A veces hubo hasta nueve salidas al año. En otras ocasiones sólo una. Y hubo un año en que no salieron nunca.
Pero las salidas siempre eran bajo la estricta supervisión del padre.
“Para nosotros existía un mundo en el exterior y otro mundo, el de nuestro departamento”, agrega el joven.
El cine, sin embargo, fue la conexión que los mantuvo unidos al mundo. Y los hermanos se entretenían “produciendo” sus propias películas, copiando y memorizando diálogos y creando vestuarios y utilerías improvisadas.
“Las películas fueron nuestra ventana al mundo exterior” asegura Mukunda. “Fue una forma de mirar al mundo”.
“Pero siempre estuvimos conscientes de la diferencia entre la realidad y la ficción”.
Por ejemplo, “Reservoir Dogs” (Quentin Tarantino, 1992), era una “película perfecta” -dice Mukunda- porque había personajes para todos los hermanos.
El documental muestra la versión que hicieron de esta cinta: se les ve vestidos con trajes y corbatas negros, con anteojos de sol y empuñando pistolas hechas de cartón y cinta adhesiva.
“Sabemos que (esta película) es puro entretenimiento pero no puedes dejar de pensar que hay gente así (violenta) en el mundo real”, afirma Mukunda.
“Es decir, las películas nos hicieron conscientes de lo que podía ocurrir en el mundo exterior”.
Pero Mukunda asegura que en su casa también tenían acceso a los canales de noticieros en TV, “así que también estábamos conscientes de lo que estaba ocurriendo en la vida real y en la actualidad”.
La norma
Cuando la BBC le pregunta a Narayana qué impacto tuvo esta forma de vida en su desarrollo, dice: “Cuando eres niño y estás creciendo, aceptas las cosas como son, aceptas tu vida como la norma”.
“El mundo dentro de nuestro departamento era la norma. Pero fue cuando llegamos a la adolescencia cuando empezamos a darnos cuenta de nuestra situación”, agrega.
Tal como le contó a la BBC Crystal Moselle, la directora de The Wolfpack, llegó un momento en que los jóvenes se rebelaron y decidieron salir de su encierro.
Y en una de las primeras excursiones que hicieron solos al exterior conocieron fortuitamente a Crystal Moselle.
“Fue pura casualidad”, dice la cineasta. “Un día estaba caminando en Manhattan cuando un niño pasó por mi lado corriendo entre la multitud. Trás él corría otro. Y después otro, y otro, y otro”.
“Me dejé llevar por el instinto y corrí tras ellos”.
Moselle se acercó a conocerlos. Y durante los siguientes cuatro años se convirtieron en el tema de The Wolfpack.
“Lo que me llamó la atención fue lo increíblemente equilibrados que eran, lo inteligentes y bien educados. Me dijeron que todo se lo debían a su madre, que los había educado”, dice Moselle.
“El día que los conocí Govinda me preguntó: ‘¿a qué te dedicas?’. Le respondí que era cineasta y me dijo muy serio: ‘¡Uy! a nosotros nos interesa entrar en la industria del cine'”.
Moselle agrega: “Crecieron con una determinación en su vida. Así que una vez que salieron al mundo, sabían exactamente lo que querían hacer”.
Dos hombres en Polonia dicen haber encontrado un tren nazi lleno de oro, joyas y armas de fuego, desaparecido durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
Se cree que el tren desapareció cerca de Breslau -ahora la ciudad de Wroclaw– en pleno avance de las fuerzas soviéticas en 1945.
Una firma de abogados del suroeste de Polonia aseguró haber sido contactada por los dos hombres, quienes ahora reclaman el 10% del valor del hallazgo.
Algunos medios locales reportaron que hay coincidencias con algunos informes históricos que hablaban de la desaparición de un tren con oro y joyas a finales de la Guerra, cerca del castillo de Ksiaz.
Fue precisamente en Walbrzych, a tan sólo 3 kilómetros del castillo, donde los protagonistas del descubrimiento presentaron la demanda en la firma de abogados.
El alcalde de Wałbrzych, Roman Szeleme, dijo que se mostraba escéptico, pero que seguiría adelante con las investigaciones.
“El ejército, la policía, los abogados y los bomberos se están ocupando del asunto”, contó a Reuters Marika Tokarsa, funcionaria del municipio.
“Esta zona nunca ha sido excavada antes y no sabemos qué es lo que podrán encontrar”, agregó.
Según reportó otro medio local -Walbrzych24.com– uno de los hombres que encontraron el tren era polaco y el otro, alemán.
Ese mismo medio informó que ambos están ahora cooperando con un comité de emergencia.
Misteriosa desaparición
Joanna Lamparska, historiadora del área de Walbrzych, dijo a una radio local que se cree que el tren había desaparecido en un túnel cerca del castillo de Ksiaz, y que llevaba oro y “materiales peligrosos” a bordo.
El área cercana a Walbrzych contaba con una enorme estructura de túneles subterráneos, que formaba parte de un proyecto de construcción nazi: el Proyecto Riese (gigante en alemán), cuya finalidad continúa siendo un misterio a día de hoy.
Algunos creen que pretendía ser una fábrica masiva de armas, otros piensan que tenía destinado convertirse en el nuevo cuartel general de Hitler.
En cualquier caso, la construcción de este complejo de túneles no llegó a finalizarse, al ser descubierto por las fuerzas soviéticas en 1945.
Búsquedas anteriores en la zona habían resultado inútiles, hasta el momento.
