Florida’s newly minted governor denied reports that he had suspended the sheriff of Broward County over the top cop’s handling of the Parkland shooting.

Gov. Ron DeSantis, who pledged to suspend Sheriff Scott Israel during his campaign, told Fox News on Tuesday night that his office has not told Israel that “he’ll soon be suspended.”

Israel’s attorney Stuart Kaplan also told The Post that they have not received official communication from the governor and Israel is expected to report to work tomorrow.

Israel has been under criticism for his handling of the February 2018 Stoneman Douglas High School that left 17 people dead.

One of Israel’s deputies was outside the school during the shooting and failed to take appropriate action.

Former Florida Gov. Rick Scott had declined to suspend Israel during his tenure. Some lawmakers had pushed for his removal.

Fox News had originally reported on Tuesday that Israel had been suspended.

De Santis’ office did not respond to requests for comment from The Post.
