But, she said, the state’s GOP leaders “do not want to allocate not just the resources, but also the political power. . . . If we truly believe the Constitution is about equal enfranchisement, then we should be allocating our districts accordingly. This is egregious, and the fact that the Justice Department is stepping in here is exactly what they are meant to be doing.”
