Wine Tasting Benefit
Join the Fort Tryon Park Trust for a Cocktail Party Fundraiser on Sun., Sept. 20th from 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. in support of the park. Celebrate the end of summer at this annual cocktail benefit overlooking the Heather Garden and Hudson River while sampling an assortment of wines from Cabrini Wines, brews by Dyckman Beer Co., and foods from the New Leaf Restaurant. The event will honor Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer and Councilmember Ydanis Rodríguez. All proceeds go to sustaining the park. Guests will meet at the Stan Michels Promenade located at the entrance of Fort Tryon Park at Fort Washington Avenue.

Harvest Home East Harlem
Celebrate healthy living at the Harvest Home East Harlem Farmers Market on Thurs., Sept. 10th from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Purchase locally grown, freshly picked fruits and vegetables. Chefs will be on hand at the market for live cooking demonstrations, sponsored by Harvest Home and GrowNYC Greenmarkets, and will distribute recipe cards so that guests can make the same healthy dishes at home.
The East Harlem Market is located at 104th Street and Third Avenue.

Fall E-Waste
Recycle your e-waste properly at Inwood Hill Park on Sat., Sept. 19th. The program, made possible by Tekserve and Con Edison, is a free, responsible disposal method of working and non-electronics for local residents. Among the items accepted are computers, printers, tables, televisions and cell phones. Appliances such as microwaves, air conditioners or ionization or carbon monoxide detectors will not be accepted. The drop-off location will be at the Inwood Hill Park entrance, located at Seaman Avenue and Isham Street.

The City College of New York Division of Humanities and the Arts presents A Happy End, a play which explores a Jewish family’s dilemma whether to stay or flee 1930’s Berlin. This Actors Equity Showcase production will take place in Aaron Davis Hall and opens on Thurs., Sept. 10 and runs for 2 consecutive weeks ending on Sat., Sept. 19th. The play is the story of a Jewish family faced with grappling with a fundamental decision: whether to stay in their beloved Germany in the hope that anti-Semitism will ease, or flee to America. Aaron Davis Hall is located at 160 Convent Avenue.
